Zenk, Joseph
Joseph Zenk (1906-2001) was an American painter known for his expressive use of color and form in landscapes and figure studies. Originally from Wisconsin, Zenk worked in New York and spent part of his life in Pennsylvania, where he became associated with regional modernist movements. His bold compositions, sometimes bordering on abstraction, reflect a fusion of European and American influences. Zenk’s work has been exhibited in major museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art.
